Audio and Tactile Maps for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Manteca Transit is one of four Transit Centers In San Joaquin County to introduce Talk To Me Maps, a new service that makes navigating the Manteca Transit System and other systems within San Joaquin County easier for blind and visually impaired passengers. A braille/large print map is available upon request at the Manteca Transit Center and the maps work with talking smart pens to assist passengers with trip planning and where to board buses.

Reasonable Modifications/Accommodations

Reasonable modifications may include helping passengers insert money into fare boxes, allowing passengers to eat, drink or take medicine aboard a transit vehicle to avoid a medical problem, and permitting passengers to board separately from their mobility devices when the passenger can control the movement of the device. Passengers may request modifications in advance, or at the time they are needed. Passengers are not required to say "Reasonable Modification" when asking for an accommodation. Manteca Transit staff will work with passengers to find an alternative approach to accommodate their accessibility needs, if a request for a policy, practice, or procedural modification cannot be fulfilled.
