Each year, the City Council adopts strategic goals and priorities that guide the City’s budget, operations, and initiatives. The goals and priorities reflect the values of the community and that of the City Council’s. On January 16, 2024 the City Council adopted a new mission, vision, and values statement and five strategic priority areas in ranking order for Fiscal Year 2024-2025:

1. Plan for Updating City Infrastructure and Facilities

2. Economic Development & Vitality

3. Public Safety

4. Expand Homelessness & Housing Options and Solutions

5. Stabilize City Finances

On April 2, 2024, the Council adopted their Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Goals & Priorities Work Plan, which are outlined in the digital brochure. The goals and objectives listed are broad and achievable, and the Action/ Tasks listed within each goal are to be completed over the next 12-18 months and have assigned departmental responsibility. Staff will update the City Council and the community on its progress on a regular basis.
