The City of Manteca utilizes our online Citizen Access portal to schedule all inspections. The system allows for a streamlined where you can schedule your inspections, even weeks in advance for your convenience. It also allows you to see the status of your inspections, inspection results, dates scheduled, and more.        

Please note:

  • When inspections are scheduled by the inspection staff the status will change from “requested” to “scheduled.”
  • The time appearing in the Citizen Access Portal is only a representation of the AM or PM window. We do not schedule specific times for inspections. AM scheduled inspections are generally between 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and PM scheduled inspections are generally between 12:00 PM -4:00 PM.

 

Inspection Information

  • All building permits require an inspection conducted by our trained, professional inspectors to review footings, foundation, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural frames, insulation, lathe, drywall, and more.
  • Building inspectors work to ensure construction meets all municipal ordinances and state building codes and is constructed according to the plans approved by the Building Safety Division.
  • Building inspections generally occur between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday (closed alternating Fridays) with the exception being holidays or city closures. Please visit our calendar under the document tab to the left for more information.

 

Scheduling Process

  • Inspections may be scheduled at any time using the City of Manteca Citizen Access Portal page.
  • Please remember that all inspections must be requested no later than 3:30 pm on the business day preceding the inspection date requested. Any inspections requested after 3:30 pm will be scheduled for the second city working day.

Preparing for an Inspection

It is important to note that an inspection cannot occur without several key items at the job site upon their arrival. Those items include:

  • The Building Owner, Licensed Contractor, or employee of the Contractor
  • A printed copy of the plans and supporting documents as approved by the Building Safety Division
  • Access to all areas where the work has been performed
    • Be prepared to unlock doors, gates, etc. as needed
    • An OSHA approved ladder setup for roof or attic access
