Climate action plans are comprehensive roadmaps that outline the specific activities that an agency will undertake to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Climate action plans build upon the information gathered by greenhouse gas inventories and generally focus on those activities that can achieve the relatively greatest emission reductions in the most cost effective manner.

The City Council selected five members of the public to serves as the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee (CAPC) to update the City’s Climate Action Plan. The CAPAC will serve as one of the primary channels for the community to provide input and make recommendations on the Climate Action Plan Update. The purpose of the CAPAC is to provide recommendations to City Staff and to the consultant team regarding each of the topics addressed by the Climate Action Plan (e.g., Land Use Strategies, Recycling Strategies, Energy Conservation, Equitability, etc.). Participation by members appointed to the CAPAC is temporary, as the CAPAC will only be formed for the duration of time needed to compile the necessary input for the completion and adoption of the Climate Action Plan.

Agendas, informative documents, and drafts of the document will be posted below.  Please check back often to stay informed on the process of the plan.
