Cart Change

• I have more than one cart in ____ color and I no longer want the extras. How can I get them removed?

  Please email MantecaSW@Manteca.Gov with your name, address, phone number, and request. You will need to leave your carts at the curb until 5:00 pm on your normal pick up day and we will remove the additional carts. Make sure to have all of the corresponding carts out, according to the 2024 Solid Waste Collection Calendar, so we can ensure that we are removing and leaving the appropriate amount. 

• My neighbors got new cans and I didn't. Why?

  Many houses already have the correct size and body style that we are switching to. If you currently have the correct size and body style, our staff will record the serial number and leave your current carts at the residence. Even if you already have the standard size carts, please leave them at the curb until 5:00 pm on your designated day for staff to check and take appropriate actions. 

• What do I do if I want to have a smaller cart?

  In order to have a small cart, you will need to complete a Request for Residential Large Cart Exemption. This form is then reviewed by the Solid Waste Staff. If approved, you will be able to have a smaller cart for the selected commodities. Please make sure to indicate which commodities specifically you would like the small cart for, as you will receive the standard size for any not selected or approved. Even if you are approved, you will be paying the same standard rate for the Solid Waste Services. If your request is denied, you will receive the standard size for all commodities. 

• Why can't you tell me an exact date you will be at my house?

  There are many factors that have to be taken into account prior to the change out crew going on the route. This may include, but is not limited to, road closures, tree trimming, construction, and time. We strive to provide accurate information to each resident and we have to adapt to the changes that come along on the route which may cause changes to the planned route. You will receive a flyer the business day before we will be on your route for the cart change out project. 

• I forgot to leave my carts out to be exchanged / recorded. What can I do?

   You will be receiving a flyer the day before we are on your route. If you miss your scheduled day, please leave your garbage cart at the curb until 5:00 pm on your pick up days for staff to come back around and take appropriate action. If you are unsure if your cart is still to be exchanged or if you already have the correct body style and size, please email MantecaSW@Manteca.Gov for verification and a Customer Service Representative will assist you.

• Why did my carts not get exchanged this week?

  The Citywide Cart Change Out Project is for all residential addresses within the city. We are not able to get to every house on their pick up day and will be exchanging cans/ recording serial numbers based on routes. If your cart has not been exchanged, please continue to leave it at the curb until 5:00 pm on your pick up day until it has been. If your serial number has not been recorded, please continue to leave it at the curb until 5:00 pm on your pick up day until it has been. You will receive a door hanger the day before notifying you which date we will be on your route. 

• What do I do if I already have the standard size?

  If you already have the correct sized carts, please leave them at the curb until 5:00 pm on your corresponding pick up day. We need to verify serial numbers and may change the cart out if necessary.
