Residential Services

Residential Organic Waste Services

Residential organic waste is picked up on a bi-weekly schedule, alternating with recycling. Residents may choose which size organic waste cart they want to use (medium or large). Carts are placed in the gutter, 3 feet from other carts sand 5 feet from any parked vehicles. Carts are to be put out the night before or by 5:00 a.m. on their scheduled pick up date. Residents may request a second organic waste cart at an additional charge.

Carts must be removed from curb after pick up. Failure to do so may result in a court appearance and/or fines.

In accordance with the Manteca Municipal code, Title 13 Public Services Chapter 13.02.160: Refuse and recycling containers shall not be placed at the curb prior to sundown on the day prior to collection. All containers shall be removed from curb within such collection day.

The Following Items Are Acceptable In Organic Waste Carts

• Leaves
• Small Pieces of Wood
• Grass Clippings
• Weeds
• Prunings
• Small Tree Branches
• Cut Flowers/ Herbs
• Fruit/ Vegetables
• Cheese/ Meat/ Bones/ Poultry/ Seafood
• Bread/ Rice/ Pasta
• Oils
• Coffee Grounds/ Coffee Filters/ Tea Bags
• Any Decayable Matter Produced From Human or Animal Food Production

The Following Items Are Not Acceptable In Organic Waste Carts

• Large Tree Limbs
• Plastic Pots
• Concrete
• Palm Trees
• Dirt
• Treated Lumber

Carts that are continuously contaminated with unacceptable items are subject to removal.

Christmas Trees

Christmas trees are normally picked up beginning the first week of January and will have drop off locations for additional collection days. Please remove ornaments and lights from your tree before placing it in the gutter for pick up. Trees are picked up on your service day and must be placed prior to 5:00 a.m. They are taken to the landfill, chipped and used as alternative daily cover. Flocked trees are picked up also. Commercial Services

Commercial Green Waste Services

The City of Manteca provides commercial green waste services with green waste bins ranging in size from 2 cubic yards to 6 cubic yards. We can arrange pick up service once a week. This is done at NO CHARGE to the business operator, provided that the green waste remains clean and free of contamination.

The Following Items Are Acceptable In Green Waste Bins

• Leaves
• Grass Clippings
• Prunings
• Small Tree Branches
• Small Pieces of Untreated and Unpainted Wood
• Particle Board
• Weeds
• Flowers

Commercial Food Waste Services

The City of Manteca provides commercial food waste services with orange waste bins ranging from a 32 or 64 gallon cart or a 2 cubic yard bin.

The Following Items Are Acceptable In Orange Waste Bins

• All Fruits and Vegetables (Pits and Shells Too)
• Coffee Grounds and Paper Filters
• Dairy Products
• Eggshells and Eggs
• Leftovers and Spoiled Food
• Meat (Including Bones)
• Seafood (Including Shellfish)

Carts/Bins that are continuously contaminated with unacceptable items are subject to removal.

Construction Waste

The City of Manteca can provide 40 cubic yard bins for:

• Construction Lumber
• Roofing Materials
• Pallets
• Wood Waste
• Drywall
• And All Other Construction/Demolition Debris

These bins are provided and are available on an "On-call" basis, daily basis, weekly basis or whatever your needs may be.
